The Bay Model Alliance is a division of bay.org, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit with the mission to protect, restore and inspire conservation of San Francisco Bay and its watershed, from the Sierra to the sea. The Bay Model Alliance works to build a comprehensive learning center for the Bay, on the Bay. Through this division, we offer enhanced educational programming and special events such as lectures, films, and seminars at the Bay Model Visitor Center—creating more opportunities for visitors to learn about the oceans and rivers that are joined by the iconic San Francisco Bay.
The Bay Model Visitor Center is a fully accessible waterfront education center administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It showcases a working hydraulic model of the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta system. Under the umbrella of bay.org, Aquarium of the Bay, Bay Model Alliance, The Bay Institute, EcoCenter at Heron’s Head Park, and Sea Lion Center provide free environmental education opportunities to more than 20,000 children across 50 cities. The mission of bay.org is to protect, restore and inspire conservation of San Francisco Bay and its watershed, from the Sierra to the sea.
